On VanGami the template appears over your sheet through your phone camera — no printer needed. Trace it, cut, fold and glue. Below are all the steps in text.
What you’ll need
- Letter sheet — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
- Markers
- Pencil — and eraser
- Scissors — small
- Glass — phone stand
Steps
Trace
- Outline. Trace both halves with a solid line: two tulips that touch each other at the sides. You’ll cut along this line.
- Fold line. Where the tulips touch, draw a dashed line: that’s the fold. Don’t cut along it.
- Draw. On both halves, copy the front petal and the line where the stem meets the flower head. Mark the leaf veins with a single line.
Color
- Color. Flower heads — pink; petal and the outline of the head — red; stem and leaves — green. Leave the veins white.
Cut
- Cut out: card. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Don’t cut the dashed line between the halves — that’s the fold. Get into the corners between the leaves and the flower head with the tips of the scissors, from both sides.
Fold
- Fold in half. Turn the card over so the drawing faces down and fold it in half along the dashed line: half on top of half, edge to edge. Crease the fold with your fingernail — the drawing ends up on the outside on both sides.
Write
- A wish inside. Open the card and write a wish inside — on the white side, with a pen or a fine-tip marker. There’s room for three or four short lines.
- Stand it up. Fold the card and open it slightly: slightly open, it stands up on its own. For a gift, tuck it into a bouquet or attach it to a box.
Done. Your card is done. Stand it up slightly open — it stays up on its own. The same sheet is enough for a few more: you can color the tulips in different colors.
