On VanGami the template appears over your sheet through your phone camera — no printer needed. Trace it, cut, fold and glue. Below are all the steps in text.
What you’ll need
- 2 Letter sheets — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
- Markers
- Pencil — and eraser
- Ruler — 8–12 in
- Scissors — small
- Glue stick — or PVA glue
- Glass — phone stand
Steps
Trace
- Sturdy sheet from two. Apply glue stick over the whole surface of a sheet of printer paper, press a second sheet onto it, and smooth with your palm from the middle to the edges. You'll get a thick sheet — work on that one. Put it back in the same spot, edge to edge; don't move the phone.
- Fruit and sun: outlines. Trace six cards — rectangles with rounded corners, three columns of two. You can draw the long sides with a ruler.
- Fruit and sun: pictures. In each column, draw a pair of matching pictures: an apple, grapes, a sun. Copy them with thin lines.
- Animals and cloud: outlines. Six more cards of the same size.
- Animals and cloud: pictures. The pairs: a kitty, a little frog, a rain cloud. Copy them with thin lines.
Color
- Color: fruit and sun. Color the apples red, the leaves green, the grapes purple, and the sun yellow with orange rays. Color both cards of a pair the same way.
- Color: animals and cloud. Color the kitty orange, the little frog green and the drops blue; color the eyes and outlines black. The cloud stays white.
Cut
- Cut out: fruit and sun — 6 pcs. Cut out six cards: first cut between the rows, then between the columns, then round the corners.
- Cut out: animals and cloud — 6 pcs. Cut out six cards: first cut between the rows, then between the columns, then round the corners.
Play
- Shuffle the cards. Turn all the cards face down, shuffle them, and lay them out on the table in three rows of four.
- Flip two. The first player flips over any two cards. If they’re different, they flip them back over, and it’s the second player’s turn. Remember where everything is.
- Keep the pair. Found two matching cards? That’s a pair: keep it and flip two more. When the cards run out, whoever has the most pairs wins.
Done. The memory game is done. Play with a friend: cards face down, flip two at a time — find a pair, keep it, and go again. Whoever has the most pairs wins.
