Blind Bag
A flat bag made of light blue paper with a zigzag edge: the front and back are covered with clear tape, with double-sided tape along the edges inside. Inside is a hero and their items: a cape, a sword, a mask, and a pet. You cut the top off along the dashed line — that's the unboxing.
- Medium
- 5 items inside
- 2 Letter sheets
- 1 cut — and unbox

On VanGami the template appears over your sheet through your phone camera — no printer needed. Trace it, cut, fold and glue. Below are all the steps in text.
What you’ll need
- 2 Letter sheets — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
- Markers
- Pencil — and eraser
- Ruler — 8–12 in
- Scissors — small
- Wide clear tape — 1⅞–2 in, about 23½ in
- Glue stick
- Glass — phone stand
Steps
Sheet 1
- Sheet 1: light blue sheet. A light blue sheet should be under the camera now. The template has 2 sheets. The sheet is white — the pieces get their color at the coloring step.
- Front: outline. Trace the rectangle with a ruler: 3¼ × 4⅝ in.
- Front: drawing. Copy the letters, the small caption, and the four silhouettes with question marks. At the top is a dashed line ½ in from the edge: you open the bag along it; right at the edges are zigzag lines.
- Back: outline. A second rectangle of the same size — 3¼ × 4⅝ in.
- Back: drawing. A big question mark, stars, and a dashed line at the same height as on the front.
- Light blue. The paper is white, but these parts should be this color: color them in completely, up to the outline. Move the marker in one direction.
- Color: front. Letters — blue, their outline and the silhouettes — dark blue, the caption — black. Don't color the question marks inside the silhouettes.
- Color: back. Question mark and stars — blue, the outline of the question mark — dark blue.
Sheet 2
- Sheet 2: white sheet. Remove the previous sheet and put the white sheet in its place, lined up edge to edge. Don’t move the phone — the scale stays the same.
- Hero and sword: outlines. Trace the line around the hero and sword — a 1/16 in white margin; you'll cut along it.
- Hero and sword: drawing. Copy the drawing with thin lines: the picture on the screen is your guide. It doesn't have to be exact to the millimeter.
- Items: outlines. Trace the line around the cape, pet, and mask — 1/16 in from the drawing.
- Items: drawing. Copy the hooded cape, the round pet, and the mask. For the mask's eyes, just color them black.
- Color: hero and sword. Color it following the sample on screen: light colors first, then dark ones, outlines last.
- Color: hero's items. Color it following the sample on screen: light colors first, then dark ones, outlines last.
Tape
- Tape the front and back. Right on the sheet, cover the front and back with wide clear tape: three strips across, overlapping by 3/16 in, with no bubbles. The bag will get shiny like real packaging.
Cut
- Cut out: bag front. Cut along the rectangle. Leave the zigzag lines for now — you cut them at the end, through both layers.
- Cut out: bag back. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Turn the sheet, not the scissors — the cut will come out neater.
- Cut out: hero and sword — 2 pcs. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Turn the sheet, not the scissors — the cut will come out neater.
- Cut out: hero's items — 3 pcs. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Turn the sheet, not the scissors — the cut will come out neater.
Glue
- Add the items. Flip the back panel picture side down over the side edge, like a page. Stack the mask, pet, cape, blade, and the hero on top of it; slide the stack down, but not all the way to the edge — that's where the tape goes.
- Double-sided tape. Around the items, along all four edges of the back panel, stick double-sided tape right at the edge. Don't peel off the backing yet.
- Close the bag. Peel the backing off the double-sided tape and right away lay the front panel on the back panel, picture side up, edge to edge. Press along the edge.
Teeth
- Zigzag top and bottom. Trim the top and bottom along the zigzag line — through both layers at once, so the zigzags match.
Check
- Unboxing. Tap the bottom edge of the bag on the table — the items will slide down. Cut off the top along the dashed line and take the items out one by one, hero first.
Done. The bag is done. Give it as a gift and let them unbox it: they cut off the top along the dashed line and take the items out one by one.
