Clip Bookmarks: Heart and Strawberry
A heart and a strawberry with little faces sit on ordinary paper clips. Each figure is made of two halves with the end of the clip sandwiched between them: you slip the clip onto the edge of a page, and the figure peeks out over the top.

On VanGami the template appears over your sheet through your phone camera — no printer needed. Trace it, cut, fold and glue. Below are all the steps in text.
What you’ll need
- Letter sheet — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
- Markers
- Pencil — and eraser
- Scissors — small
- Glue stick — or PVA glue
- Paper clips — 2 pcs, regular metal ones, 1⅛–1¼ in
- Book or notebook — to try on the bookmarks
- Glass — phone stand
Steps
Trace
- Heart and strawberry: outlines. Trace four figures with a solid line: two hearts on top and two strawberries under them. You’ll cut along these lines.
- Heart and strawberry: drawing. The left ones are faces: copy the eyes with highlights, the smile and the cheeks with thin lines. The right ones are backs: the strawberry gets only leaves and seeds, and the heart has no drawing.
Color
- Color: heart and strawberry. Hearts — pink, strawberries — red, leaves — green, cheeks — pale pink. Eyes, smiles and seeds — black; leave the highlights in the eyes and the highlight on the heart white.
Cut
- Cut out: heart and strawberry — 4 pcs. Cut out the figures along the solid line. Cut the strawberry’s leaves along their points, going into each notch from both sides.
Glue
- Heart on a clip. Lay the heart’s back piece face down and cover it completely with glue. Put the paper clip on top, narrow end up (that’s the end with a single loop): its top centimeter lies on the heart, and the rest sticks out below the tip. Cover it with the front piece, edge to edge, and press.
- Strawberry on a clip. Same thing: the strawberry’s back piece face down, glue all over it, the clip narrow end up, ⅜ in in. On top goes the strawberry’s front piece, leaves lined up with leaves.
Check
- Slide it onto the page. Once the glue has dried a bit, slip the clip onto the top edge of a page: the page goes between the clip’s loops from below, and the figure stays above the edge.
Done. Your bookmarks are done. Take them off and put them on any page — the clip holds tight.
