Candy Cane Bookmark
Striped Christmas candy canes with a little bow — one red and one green. The hook of the cane catches on the edge of a page: the stick lies on the page, the short end is behind it, and the curve sticks up above the book.

On VanGami the template appears over your sheet through your phone camera — no printer needed. Trace it, cut, fold and glue. Below are all the steps in text.
What you’ll need
- 2 Letter sheets — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
- Markers
- Pencil — and eraser
- Scissors — small
- Glue stick — or PVA glue
- Book or notebook — to try on the bookmark
- Glass — phone stand
Steps
Trace
- Sturdy sheet from two. Apply glue stick over the whole surface of a sheet of printer paper, press a second sheet onto it, and smooth with your palm from the middle to the edges. You'll get a thick sheet — work on that one. Put it back in the same spot, edge to edge; don't move the phone.
- Candy canes: outlines. Trace the two candy canes with a solid line. The notch under the hook is traced too: you’ll cut along it.
- Candy canes: stripes. Draw the slanted stripe lines and a little bow under the bend. Place the narrow stripes between the wide ones by eye, following the sample.
Color
- Color: candy canes. One cane with wide red stripes and narrow green ones, the other the other way around. Bows — yellow and red. Leave a white highlight strip along each cane.
Cut
- Cut out: candy canes — 2 pcs. Cut out the candy canes along the solid line. Cut the opening under the hook in two passes: along the stick up to the curve, then along the short end.
Check
- Slide it onto the page. Open the book. Slide the edge of a page into the cut-out under the hook all the way up to the top of the curve: the stick goes on the page, the short end goes behind it.
- The second one — the same way. Put the green candy cane on the same way — on another page or in another book. Write on the back whose bookmark it is — and it’s ready to give.
Done. Your bookmarks are done. Slip a candy cane onto a page — the curve sticks out above the book, and you can see right away where you stopped.
