Perfume Bottle

Perfume Bottle

A bottle of pink perfume with a flower label stands on the table like a “tent”: the two halves are glued together at the bases and the necks, with a bow cap on top.

On VanGami the template appears over your sheet through your phone camera — no printer needed. Trace it, cut, fold and glue. Below are all the steps in text.

What you’ll need

Steps

Trace

  1. Halves: outlines. Trace two bottles side by side — each one together with its base at the bottom, with a solid line.
  2. Halves: folds. Each bottle has two folds: at the bottom a dashed line sets off the base; at the shoulders a dash-dot line sets off the neck.
  3. Halves: drawing. Inside: a thin wall of glass and a wavy perfume level; the left bottle also has an oval label with a flower.
  4. Bow: outline. Trace the bow: a rectangle on top, loops below, and two tails with a notch at the end.
  5. Bow: fold. The dashed line sets off the top rectangle — that’s the back half of the little lid.
  6. Bow: creases. Short arcs on the loops and two lines of the knot.

Color

  1. Halves: coloring. Perfume in pink; leave the highlight stripes on the left white. Glass wall in purple; on the label, the rim in yellow and the flower in pink.
  2. Bow: coloring. The whole bow in red, the knot a little darker, the glints on the loops white.

Cut

  1. Cut out: bottle halves — 2 pcs. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Turn the sheet, not the scissors — the cut will come out neater.
  2. Cut out: bow cap. Cut out the bow. For the corners of the rectangle and the notches in the tails, make two short cuts toward the dot.

Fold

  1. Fold up the bases. Turn both halves face down and fold the bases up along the bottom dashed line, at a right angle. Just crease the dashed line at the shoulders with your fingernail: the neck will bend along it later.

Glue

  1. Glue the bases together. Stand the front half of the bottle with the label facing you and its base pointing back, and apply glue to the base. Stand the back half facing it and lay its base on top, edge to edge: the halves will stand up like a “tent.”
  2. Glue the necks together. Apply glue to the back of the neck on the front half — above the dashed line at the shoulders. Bring the halves together and press the necks against each other: they’ll bend along the dashed line and stick together.

Assemble

  1. Put on the cap. Fold the bow along the dashed line, apply glue to the back, and slip it over the glued necks from above: the rectangle goes at the back, the loops and tails at the front. Press for half a minute.

Check

  1. The bottle is done. Stand the bottle on the table: it stands on its own. From the back you can see how the bases hold the halves together.

Done. The perfume bottle is done. You can put a piece of cotton pad with a drop of perfume inside — the bottle will smell nice.
