What you’ll need

• Letter sheet — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
• Markers
• Pencil — and eraser
• Scissors — small
• Tape — clear, wide
• Glass — phone stand

Steps

Trace

1. Nails: outlines. Trace ten nails — two matching ones for each finger: thumbs, index, middle, ring and pinkies.
2. Nails: designs. Each pair gets its own design: daisy, star, heart, sparkles, white tip.
3. Card: outline. Trace the rectangle with rounded corners — the card for the nails.
4. Card: drawing. At the top is a strip with a window for the hook (you only draw it) and dots; below are ten marker circles in two rows — the nails will go here.

Color

5. Nails: coloring. Base in pink or lilac, as on the screen; the star and the daisy center in yellow, the heart in red. Leave the petals, sparkles, tips and glints white.
6. Card: coloring. Top strip in pink; leave the dots and the window white; the little heart in the middle in pink.

Cut

7. Cut out: nails — 10 pcs. Cut out the nails along the outline. Cut the tips smoothly, turning the sheet as you go.
8. Cut out: card. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Turn the sheet, not the scissors — the cut will come out neater.

Curve

9. Curve the nails. Wrap each nail around a marker with the drawing facing out, press with your fingers and let go: the nail will stay curved, like a real one.

Tape

10. Tape rings. Cut 10 pieces of clear tape, ¾ in each, and roll each one into a loop, sticky side out. Turn the nails over and press one loop onto the back of each — closer to the base.

Assemble

11. Arrange on the card. Cover each row of marks with a strip of clear tape: the nails will peel off it cleanly later. Press the nails’ loops onto the marks: the top row is for the left hand, the bottom row for the right.

Check

12. Put on a nail. Peel a nail off the card and press it onto your own nail for 10 seconds. To take it off, lift it by the edge; if a nail is too wide, trim its sides.

Done. The manicure is done. Peel a nail off the card and press it onto your own nail for 10 seconds; to remove it, lift it by the edge. A nail that’s too wide can be trimmed at the sides.
