What you’ll need

Steps

Trace

Back, lid and bow: outlines. Two squares one above the other, a flap on top, and tabs on the sides of the lower one. Next to them, three strips for the bow. Mark the corners with dots and draw the lines with a ruler.
Back and lid: folds. Dashed lines go between the squares, under the flap and by the two tabs.
Walls and bottom: outline. Three squares in a row are the walls; under the middle one is the bottom with three tabs. Mark the corners with dots and draw the lines with a ruler.
Walls and bottom: folds. Dashed lines go between the walls, between the front wall and the bottom, and by the three tabs of the bottom.

Color

Red. Color the areas that match this color. Move the marker in one direction — you’ll get fewer streaks.
Green. Now the areas that match this color.

Cut

Cut out: back panel, lid and bow — 4 pcs. Cut out the back panel with the lid together with the tabs and the tuck tab and the three bow strips. The tails have “swallowtail” notches — cut along the outline.
Cut out: walls and bottom. Cut out the walls with the bottom together with the tabs. In the inner corners by the bottom, take the scissors exactly up to the line.

Glue

Walls around the bottom. Score all the lines with an empty pen along a ruler. Put the piece drawing side down: raise the front wall and the bottom tabs, spread glue on the side tabs and press the side walls onto them.
Back panel. Fold the tabs of the back panel and the back tab of the bottom, and spread glue on all three. Fit the back panel between the walls: tabs inward, then press. The lid stays open for now.

Bow

Bow loops. Lay the long strip drawing side down and spread glue on the middle. Bend the ends up and toward the middle: the pattern is on the outside, and you get a figure eight.
Little ring and tails. Slide the little ring under the middle of the loops, crosswise, wrap it around the middle and glue the ends with an overlap. Glue the tails on from underneath at a slant.
Lid and bow. Fold the tuck tab and close the lid: the tuck tab goes inside the front wall. Spread glue on the bottom of the bow and glue it to the middle of the lid.
