What you’ll need

Letter sheet — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)

Steps

Trace

Bottom: outline. A triangle bottom, two walls on the sides and four tabs. Draw the straight lines with a ruler: put dots at the corners and connect them.
Bottom: folds. The sides of the triangle and the lines by the tabs are dashed: you fold along them.
Bottom: drawing. On the walls, draw the cake layers: sponge, a thin layer of jam, sponge, frosting, and icing with drips on top. Leave the bottom and the tabs blank.
Top and frosting: outlines. A triangle lid with a back wall and two tabs, and next to it a cloud of frosting with a cherry and a flap.
Top and frosting: folds. The edge between the lid and the wall, the lines by the tabs and the line by the flap are dashed.
Top and frosting: drawing. On the lid, draw icing with sprinkles and three frosting rosettes near the wide edge; on the wall, drips and little beads. Draw the cherry, its stem and the frosting swirls on the cloud.

Color

Color: bottom. Sponge — yellow, jam — red, icing — pink; leave the strip of frosting white.
Color: top and frosting. Icing — pink, sprinkles — yellow, green and red. Cherry — red, stem — green; leave the frosting white.

Cut

Cut out: bottom. Cut out the bottom together with the four tabs. In the corners next to the tabs, cut right up to the line.
Cut out: top and frosting — 2 pcs. Cut out the top and frosting along the solid line. Don’t cut off the little flap at the bottom of the frosting.

Fold

Score and fold. Score all the dashed lines with an empty ballpoint pen along a ruler. Fold each line with the drawing facing out, then unfold it again.

Glue

Sides. Lay the bottom with the drawing facing down. Lift both walls, fold the tab at the sharp corner inward and spread glue on it, and press the second wall against it.
Back wall. Fold the three back tabs of the bottom inward and spread glue on them. Press the back wall of the top against them, drawing facing out; the lid stays open for now.
Frosting with a cherry. Close the lid. Fold the frosting’s flap back, spread glue on its underside and stick it on near the wide edge of the lid, in the middle: the little cloud faces the sharp corner.
