Finger Monsters
Three little monster rings for your fingers: a big-eyed one with little horns, a ghost, and a toothy one with ears. The face is drawn right on the strip, and the head pokes up above the ring — wiggle your fingers and the gang comes to life.

On VanGami the template appears over your sheet through your phone camera — no printer needed. Trace it, cut, fold and glue. Below are all the steps in text.
What you’ll need
- Letter sheet — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
- Markers
- Pencil — and eraser
- Scissors — small
- Glue stick — or PVA glue
- Glass — phone stand
Steps
Trace
- Big-eyed monster and ghost: outlines. Trace two strips with heads using a solid line — the big-eyed monster and the ghost under it. You’ll cut along these lines.
- Big-eyed monster and ghost: drawing. Copy the faces with thin lines. The line on the left of the strip marks the edge of the white glue tab; the line on the right shows where to trim the ring for a child’s finger.
- Toothy monster: outline. Trace the strip with the big-eared head using a solid line.
- Toothy monster: drawing. Copy the eyes, the mouth with teeth, and the little ears. The lines on the left and right are the same as on the first two: the glue tab and the trim for a child’s finger.
Color
- Color: big-eyed monster and ghost. Big-eyed monster in green, horns in yellow, mouth in red. Around the ghost in lilac; the ghost itself stays white, cheeks pink. Don’t color the tabs to the left of the line; outlines and eyes in black.
- Color: toothy monster. Toothy monster in purple, insides of the ears and cheeks in pink, mouth in red, teeth white. Don’t color the tab; outlines and eyes in black.
Cut
- Cut out: big-eyed monster and ghost — 2 pcs. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Turn the sheet, not the scissors — the cut will come out neater.
- Cut out: toothy monster. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Turn the sheet, not the scissors — the cut will come out neater.
Glue
- Roll up the big-eyed monster. Wrap the strip around your finger with the face out, not too tight. Apply glue to the white tab and press the right end onto it — hold for 20–30 seconds.
- Two more, the same way. Roll up the ghost and the toothy monster the same way: glue on the white tab, right end on top.
Play
- Put them on your fingers. Put the rings on three fingers with the faces toward your audience and wiggle your fingers — the monsters bounce and chatter.
Done. The monsters are done — put them on your fingers and wiggle: the gang comes to life. Want your own character? Draw it on the same kind of 1 × 3 in strip with the head in the middle.
