A mini compact that opens like a book: inside the lid is a mirror with glints, and below are six round eyeshadows, each in its own marker color. On the outside of the lid is a heart.

What you’ll need

Letter sheet — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
Markers
Pencil — and eraser
Scissors — small
Glue stick — or PVA glue
Glass — phone stand

Steps

Trace

Case: outline. Trace the big rectangle with rounded corners — that’s the palette case. You’ll cut along this line.
Case: fold. The dashed line in the middle is the fold line — don’t cut along it.
Case: heart. On the right, trace the heart and the dashed ring around it — that’s the outside of the lid.
Insert: outline. Trace the smaller rectangle — it goes inside the case.
Insert: fold. In the middle is a dash-dot line — the insert folds inward along it.
Insert: drawing. On the left is the mirror with two slanted glints; on the right are six round eyeshadow pans. Trace lightly, without pressing hard.

Color

Case: coloring. Heart in pink; leave the glint in the corner white. Ring: little pink dashes along the dashed line.
Insert: coloring. Color each circle its own color: pink, orange, yellow, purple, green, brown. Mirror in light blue; leave the glints white. Rims with a gray pencil.

Cut

Cut out: case. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Turn the sheet, not the scissors — the cut will come out neater.
Cut out: insert. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Turn the sheet, not the scissors — the cut will come out neater.

Glue

Glue the case and the insert together. Turn the case over heart side down and apply glue to the whole back. Lay the insert on top, drawing side up: the mirror goes over the heart, with an even white border around the edge.

Fold

Fold in half. Fold the palette along the line with the insert inside: the mirror lies on the eyeshadows. Crease the fold with your fingernail and open it.
