A little cone with a handle: a piece with pink stripes rolls into a cone, and a strip handle is glued inside. Two pieces, one glued seam. Fill it with candy and it’s ready to give.

What you’ll need

Letter sheet — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
Markers
Pencil — and eraser
Ruler — 8–12 in
Scissors — small
Glue stick — or PVA glue
Glass — phone stand

Steps

Trace

Cone: outline. A sector shaped like a slice of pie: two straight edges from the top point and an arc. Put dots at the top point and at the ends of the arc, and draw the straight lines with a ruler.
Cone: drawing. Draw the stripes from the top point to the edge with a ruler, then the border with little diamonds along the arc. The line by the left edge marks off a narrow wedge — that’s where the glue goes, so don’t draw on it.
Handle: outline. A long strip ⅝ in wide — draw it with a ruler.
Handle: polka dots. Circles along the middle of the strip.

Color

Color: cone. Every other stripe and the little diamonds — pink, the border — yellow. Leave the glue wedge white.
Color: handle. Circles — pink.

Cut

Cut out: cone. Cut out the cone piece. Cut the straight edges along a ruler and the curve smoothly, turning the sheet.
Cut out: handle. Cut out the handle strip along a ruler.

Glue

Roll up the cone. Put glue on the narrow wedge. Roll the piece into a cone with the drawing facing out: the wedge goes under the opposite edge. Press the seam for 20 seconds.
Pen. Put glue on the ends of the handle on the drawing side and glue them inside, near the rim, exactly opposite each other, ⅜ in deep.
