What you’ll need

• Letter sheet — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
• Markers
• Pencil — and eraser
• Scissors — small
• Glue stick — or PVA glue
• Bobby pins — 4 pcs, ideally with a wavy half
• Glass — phone stand

Steps

Trace

1. Bows: outlines. Trace two little bows and, under them, two narrow strips — the knots.
2. Bows: drawing. The bows have creases near the middle — polka dots on the first one, hearts on the second.
3. Stars: outlines. Trace two stars and the two narrow strips on the right — loops for the bobby pins.
4. Stars: folds. Trace ten lines from the middle of each star: dashed lines to the tips of the points, dash-dot lines to the inner corners between them.
5. Stars: drawing. On the first star: a little face — eyes, smile, cheeks; on the second: sparkles. On the loops: lines for the glued ends, ¼ in from the edges.

Color

6. Bows: coloring. First bow and first knot in red, second bow and knot in pink. Leave the polka dots and hearts white; make the creases a little darker.
7. Stars: coloring. First star in yellow, eyes and smile in black, cheeks in pink. Second star in lilac, sparkles white. Don’t color the loops: they go on the back.

Cut

8. Cut out: bows — 4 pcs. Cut out the bows and the knots. Make the notch on the tail with two cuts into the corner.
9. Cut out: stars — 4 pcs. Cut with scissors along the solid line. Turn the sheet, not the scissors — the cut will come out neater.

Fold

10. Fold the stars. Fold the star in half along each line from the tip of a ray — drawing facing out — and unfold. Then squeeze the rays toward the middle: it will rise into a little mound.

Assemble

11. Bows onto bobby pins. Lay the bow drawing side up on a bobby pin: it runs under the middle. Wrap the knot around the middle together with the bobby pin and glue the ends of the knot at the back, overlapping.
12. Stars onto bobby pins. Turn the star over. Lay the bobby pin along its middle, with the closed end toward the top ray. Across it, a little above the middle, lay the loop: stretch it over the bobby pin and glue its ends up to the lines onto the side rays. The bobby pin should sit snugly.

Check

13. Pin in the clips. The finished clips: the decoration sits on the top half of the bobby pin. Insert the bobby pin with the wavy half toward your hair.

Done. The clips are done. Insert the bobby pin with the wavy half toward your hair: the decoration stays on top. Paper doesn’t like water — take the clips out before showering.
