What you’ll need

2 Letter sheets — office paper, 80 gsm (20 lb)
Markers
Pencil — and eraser
Scissors — small
Glue stick — or PVA glue

Steps

Sheet 1

Sheet 1: white sheet. The white sheet should be under the camera now. The template has 1 sheets.
La Catrina: outline. Trace the whole silhouette with a solid line: the hat brim, the flowers on it, the shoulders and the straight bottom of the dress.
La Catrina: drawing. Copy with thin lines the skull face with a pattern around the eyes, a heart-shaped nose and a smile, plus the hair, the collar, the ribbon on the hat and three flowers. The picture lies on its side — that’s how it fits in the frame.
Color: La Catrina. Color the hat, hair and dress black, and leave the face and collar white. Color the pattern by the eyes, the ribbon, the rose and the little heart pink, the marigolds and swirls orange, and the flower centers and earrings yellow.

Sheet 2

Pink: color the sheet (optional). The sheet is white. You can color it in this color all over before marking it out (that takes longer) — or leave it white: the craft will come out white.
Sheet 2: pink sheet. Take a pink sheet. You don’t need the camera here — follow the diagram on the screen.
Card base. This sheet isn’t traced: it gets folded in quarters — first along line 1, then along line 2. You’ll see how at the “Fold” stage.

Fold

Fold the sheet in half. Lay the pink sheet upright and fold it in half: top edge to bottom edge, corners exactly on corners. Crease the fold with your fingernail.
In half again. The fold is at the top. Fold once more: left edge to right edge, and crease it. That makes the card: the cover is on top and the spine is on the left.

Cut

Cut out: “La Catrina” appliqué. Cut out La Catrina along the solid line — a narrow white border stays around the drawing. Around the flowers on the hat, turn the sheet, not the scissors.

Glue

Glue on La Catrina. Put glue on the back of La Catrina — especially the hat brim edges and the flowers. Glue her in the middle of the cover, with the hat toward the fold at the top, and press with your palm.
